xr 250

I have a 1993 xr 250 that's used as "friend" or second bike. I've noticed lately that there is very little resistance with the kick starter. I can still get it started yet not as easily and it doesn't "fire up". Otherwise the bike runs perfect. Should I worry?Any ideas to the culprit?

Start by checking the valve clearence.

Also, check the decompression cable adjustment, or take all the tension out of it, just to check.

Or, heaven forbid, if it has lots of miles on it, the rings may be worn. Do a compression check if your valve adjustments fail to satisfy.
