RM80 forks locked up! What now?

After a jump, my son's RM80 forks locked up in a
compressed position. What would cause that, and
what should I do now?

First be carefull while inspecting or taking them apart. They are probably stuck on the bottom cone or the tubes bent and jambed up. I would loosen the bottom retaining bolt (below axle)..This may be messy with oil but things should not fly apart. If they release then go ahead and take them off and inspect to find the cause.

What costs am I facing for rebuild
or replacement of the forks?

If you can do it youself....and it is just the cones..dampening rods,springs and tubes are OK...you may spend 40-60 dollars

I've seen some bad forks..But this is going to be bad...
