What fluid works best in CR forks?

I'm going to change the oil soon in them. I would like to improve the plushness(what little there is) if I can. I've heard Showa SS-7 works good. Any other oils that work? I think a thin oil would work best, probably 5 wt.

You could try a 5wt but ive heard the only cure is a revalve on the 01.

Buzz, I don't think you will notice a big difference with oil weight. The lighter oil will give less range on adjusters. I run M1 Syn ATF in my 2000 forks with good success. The 2001 I work on used 5wt, as per the suspension builders recommendation. A revalve is the only "real" way to cure the harshness issue.

FWIW: I'm using the Honda HP fork oil, 5w in mine. I could really feel the difference when I changed it. I also used a bit less than standard too (350cc).
