My friend asked me to post this question. He is 6'2" and 200lbs. He is wondering is the 426 better? There is a 500.00 price differnce. Can I get some opinions on these 2 bikes? I rode the WR250F and liked it a lot. Weight does not seem to be a lot more. Any advice is most appreciated.Thank you.

Here's a tidbit that might help. My son's got a YZ250F and I've got a WR400. One weekend I went riding alone and packed up both bikes for a little test, because I was getting discouraged how whipped I always felt after riding the 400.

I went out and rode hard on the 400 for a couple hours until I was pretty wiped out. I dragged the bike back on the trailer and huffed the 250 down. I took off on the 250 and was surprised at how re-refreshed I felt. I rode the 250 faster than I was riding the 400. I rode another 1-1/2 hours and felt better when I bot back.

Conclusion - the 400's weight and extra power wore me out faster than the 250. I weigh a little more than your buddy, but am shorter.

1. Depends on what you ride and what you want to do with it.
2. I am 6' 3" and heavier than 200 (dont go there)
3. I added very tall Pro-Tapers and I have lots of room with the Tag Mounts...world of change.
4. I love my WR250f...its very very sweet. And Asrith said....I can ride my 250 harder, faster, longer (woods trails track) than I can on the bigger bikes (yes ridden the 400/426 etc etc) period. Bigger bikes burn energy like a gas fire.
5. If you do the mods that are common for the WR250....grey wire, YZ time, minor jetting, air box lid and the exhaust plug....the bike rips, and the mods cost = 0
6. Love mine, and I am no small kid...

Enjoy.....
remember, best thing to do when you are looking at the new machines...they are now so freakin awesome in capabilities than they were a few years ago.....that it is frequently best to check your ego at the door....before you buy.....More CC's has nothing to do with Feet Size!

Its all good!.....
