Question for all the Motul 800 oil users.....

Well you might think this is just another stupid oil question but I am just wondering what ratio do you guys running Motul 800 2T use cause I was running 32:1 with it in my CR125 but I had one hell of a mess on my rear fender and swingarm. I went down to 40:1 and with alot better results but still had a mist of spooge on my rear fender. Then I am running 50:1 and seems to runs good and with a light spray of oil on my rear fender. I've heard of people running even leaner mixes then 50:1 in their bikes with no problems but I''d figured I ask the experts here at DRN for their advise...Thanks for any input

I have been running Motul 800 2T in my 01 CR125 since it was new. I experienced the same problem with oil spooge. I have been running 3 oz. to the gal. Also, I dropped my needle from the third notch to the first. This jetting change made my bike more crisp off bottom. I still had a little oil spooge in the summer (temps around 85 to 95 and humidity 80% to 90%). Now that the weather has cooled to 50 to 70 I have no problems with oil spray. I am going to move the needle to the second clip for cool wether and see what that does. So far I have had good luck with the Motul oil, never fouled a plug even in tight slow woods riding. Haven't tore down the top end yet but will later this winter.

I have been running motul 800 for some time now, it's a great oil. I run it at 40:1 with great results. You will get alot of spooge if your not on the pipe or rev out your bike.

I have a 00 kx 250 and I run about 66:1 or 2 ounces to a gallon. I have not had any spooge or any problems with the bike since I went to that ratio . I was a little afraid to run it that lean at first, but a lacal pro rider said that he run the same ratio and never had any problems. He also said that he didn't need to rebuild his bikes as often using motul 800. Like one of the posts above said. If you can stay in the pipe you wont get the spooge as much. Good luck!

I use it at 32:1 with no spooge-its down to jetting.Try one size smaller pilot with the AS at 2-2.5.Needle in the 2nd clip in summer maybe 3rd in winter.

Same here marcus, 32:1 with no spooge. Its all in the jetting.
I have a friend whos dad uses 927 at low RPM's. That stuff is the spoogiest of oils from what i hear, but once we got the jetting dialed, he gets no spooge at all.
Get the jetting perfect.

If your not racing, 40-50 to 1 should be sufficient with that oil. Or any of the pure synthetics for that matter. Also if you're not racing, you should be using less expensive non-ester based oil like yamalube 2R or something.

I run 50:1 motul 800 in my son's 98 KX125 with little to no spooge. The local pro shop owner told me that 66:1 would be no problem and that the bikes he sponsors and has to work on run it 66:1 with great results. I'm old and I ride a 4stroke so my ratio is always right. Good luck.

We run 60:1 until it gets below 40 then go to 40:1. We run MR2.
We run it in an 02 CR 250 and an 01 125. Like the guys have said on here, it's ALL in the Jetting. Great oil!

I've been using 800 2T right at 5 years now. 1st in my WR 250 and now in my GasGas EC200. I ran it @ 50:1 in my WR and had VERY good topend results along with bottom end.
For the 200 I run it at 40:1 with very little spooge. My jetting still needs a little work. Overall I'm very pleased with the oil. Yes, it is more expensive than other oils, but I'd rather pay a little more for an oil.

I run the Motul at 80:1 in my trials bike, and would not really recommend running your Mx bike at over 50:1. I think that unless you are just putting around (like on a trials bike!!!) you will wear out your piston and rings far quicker than would be economic. With a trials bike the leaner oil mixtures are ok, but with a Mx bike, particularily a 125, you will be screaming for extended periods.

I have seen frequent dicussions on oil ratios with respect to trials bikes and some people run theirs on 100:1 with synthetic oil. I have not been that brave, and don't want the hassles of replacing piston and rings every few hours.

If you are having problems with lots of spooge, then find a decent long hill climb, and really clean out you motor and exhaust. There is a Tech Tip from a trials site, which helps to explain how to get rid of any excess oil in your exhaust system. http://www.trials.com.au/techtips/plugs6.html

Remember this is for a trials bike, so forget about the 100:1 part!!
