(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Need spring rates for '2 YZ250.

195lbs, novice, MX. Mostly loam to hard pack. No sand really.

How about recommended valving changes?

Thanks

Opinons may vary.

hey 727
how about .45 -and 5.0 these come straight from my associate spring generator:D

Here's something funny. I already went to the spring rate generator. It starts at 01 and goes backwards. I figured he hadn't got the rates up for the 02 yet. After you two posted, I went back and saw the same thing, but I decided to scroll all the way to the bottom. So, I see that the 02's have been added to the bottom. Thanks for the help.

The great news is these are the stock spring rates. Hard to believe that a manufacturer actually installed springs for real people vs. featherweights.

I've noticed that Jer's rate recs tend to be a bit lighter than others.
I don't know if the " rider weight" input for the spring generator is supposed to be with or w/o gear.

Posted by: shaggy829---------------------

the generator needs your total weight (geared up).
i am not sure why but there are some mistakes as far as stock rates being
listed in the bike spec page. i am shure they will be adjusted soon. the 02 yz 250 uses .43 and 4.8 stock

Posted by: MX-727---------------------

I just double checked the manual. It does indicate a 4.8 and .43's, so I guess I'm going to have to get some stiffer springs after all.

Thanks for the help.

when I get on the spring rate generator for my 02 125 sx it gives me nothing.
The bike is listed but the rates don't come up at the top of the page.
