AFTER ALL THE LAUGHTER SUBSIDES
THIS IS REALLY A TRUE QUESTION/REQUEST. I AM AN ADULT RIDER WHO IS VERTICALLY CHALLENGED. I'M 5'6" AND TRY TO STEER A YZ250F. I WOULD FEEL A WHOLE LOT BETTER ON THIS ANIMAL IF IT WAS LOWERED A BIT. HERE COMES THE STUPID QUESTION.... WOULD/COULD THE BIKE BE LOWERED BY SWAPPING OUT THE RIMS TO A SMALLER SIZE? DO THEY EVEN MAKE ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HOOK ME UP WITH THIS THEORY? I REALIZE THE SPROCKETS NEED TO BE CHANGED AS WELL BUT WILL THIS ADVERSELY CHANGE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BIKE TO A POINT I SHOULD CONSIDER A STRETCHING RACK FOR MYSELF INSTEAD??!! :scream: IF WORSE COMES TO WORSE I COULD CONTINUE TO STAND ON ROCKS AT THE STARTING GATE..
THANKS!!!!!!!!

If you want your bike lowered and still have the same feel, get your suspension lowered. i know mx-tech has done a few this year with good results.

Wheel size is a bad way to go maybe even impossible. By changing wheel diameter you will have to do a lot of math to figure out proper linkage ratios. Lowering the suspension is a option , however when you lower a bikes suspension you are taken away suspension travel. I don't know what you weigh but if your light and short look into a lighter spring and run your sag at 100mm. I have a 5'2" rider that touches on his 125 and 250 (tip toes). Another option is trimming seat foam or I think you can even buy it now from Ceet or One Industries. One more option would be to chop you subframe a inch or two. I work with Jer and the mx-tech clan and the general rule for lowering is no more than 2 inches. Jer would probably also tell you to get revavled the same time you lower your bike. Keep in mind you can always have the bike returned to it's normal height if your trying to sell it. Hope this helped you out .
