i know it means full throtle but what does "W" "F" "O" stand for

Posted by: VintageDirt---------------------

If one goes all the way back to the origins of WFO, it means Wound Flat Out. However the Wide Freakin Open also applies in the modern context.

Good history lesson Wes, thank you very much.

It's no trouble. Anyway I prolly don't really know this stuff. More than likely I just read it on DRN and I don't remember.

Wes; I beg to differ. WFO is an old Star Trek term. It stands for "Warp Factor One"
I promise!
Really!

If I had invented the term WFO, it would stand for Wes Fell Off.

When Flatulence Occurs

When you are going so fast you pass gas, also is linked to the terms "Stinking Fast" and "On the gas"...

:scream:

Back as far as I can remember, as in the days of Steve McQueen and Malcom Smith the term still contained the explative.
I can remember DeCoster saying it about Hannah at Rio Bravo in the 70's.
