I found a 97 KTM 250 EXC, I had some questions
Hey all, I found a 97 KTM 250 EXC this weekened at a dealer. They will sell for $2500.00. I checked blue book and retail said $3285.00.
I wanted to know if these are good bikes, I also need to get a loan if I do this. What is a good loan term and how much should I be looking at paying.It has been awhile since I have done this and I don't want to hurt my wife and I financialy.
Any answers and advice would be great!

Man what luck - you found a 250EXC! ...oh... at a dealers.... oh well... would have been nice.
I have a 97 300EXC - many similarities tween that and the 250 - but some of what i might say here may or may not apply to the 250. so FWIW -
First on price... that blue book sounds high off hand...take look on line to double check. $2,500 - if its in great shape might not be a bad price though.
On financing - thats a hard call - all depends on what you can afford and your tolerance for paying interest. and of course just how badly you want the bike. Beware - if you finance to long of term your payments may out last the bike! if you intend to keep it for a decent time... and dont mind interest...well... then a bit longer term maybe ok . at 12% (grabbed that out of thin air - no clue on what rates you might actually get) 12 months is $222 per, 18 months is $152, 24 months is $118
On the bike - if like my 300 - spend time dialing in the jetting - well worth it. my bike has been great - no problems really just normal stuff. they are great bikes in my opinion.
