Jersey under/over chest protector?

Anybody have thoughts or preferences (and why) the jersey should be under or over the chest protector?

The most typical reasons for guys wearing the chest protectors under the jersey is that its not a real hard plastic protector its actually like a rubber jacket. Its meant for stopping the hard impact of roost. It will also help the rider have more flexability while riding but will not help at all when it comes to getting ran over or falling onto rocks. With the jersey over the chest protector it also lets them have the jersey letered & #ered With the jersey on the outside (normal style protector) you will see most benefit with best protection.
