Uhh, maybe no race at all for me, or anybody who wants a repeat of Extremeland. What a mess................

Gotta hand it to the guys over at TORO, the track is excellent! About 80 percent of the track is hard pack river bottom type sand, allot of new trail & very little use of the TCCRA track, but I did see allot of old TSCEC markers. Now for the other 20 percent. Since we start behind the expert class & it's gonna rain all night I have a feeling that the amateur class is going to have a very difficult time in some of this stuff. I saw some tight, uphill, rocky, roots, rutted whoop out red clay off camber trail that will be great, if you watching. If you riding, then it's gonna be real bad. I anticipate ruts the size of tractor tires on some of these trails, and speaking of tractor tires, I expect the ****s will be

A - Very busy during the amateur race
B - LTAO at us

I have washed my bike and will take my drop.

WHAT A WUSS!!!! Man it was fun. It rained all day. It was cold. It was muddy. The creek rose so high that we couldn't cross it for the amateur race, so the board and RRDR made the decision to re-route the track to include the "Our Mountain" trail and along the creek. The new track was about 4 miles, and it was a blast. I was running like 4th or 5th after my first lap, but then I fried my clutch. I did finish though, but let me tell you, it's hard to ride at Muenster in 1st gear with no clutch . I ended up 6th, outta 8. There was actually a pretty big turnout for the amateur class. Matt and Jeff, yalls class had like 13, and was the biggest. Yall shoulda come man, it was worth it. Way to go Will, Brian, and the rest of the TORO staff for taking something so bad and making it good.

After the post-Extreme mud bath clean up I was not about to do that to my bike again. I just got it back together Friday night after tearing it down to the frame, motor, and forks and scrubbing everything with a toothbrush and re-assembling with plenty of fresh grease and some fresh bearings.

Glad you had fun Eric. Now you shall pay dearly when you have to go through the post-race teardown and cleanup of your bike! Better thee than me my friend! I am NOT jealous at all.

Ha, little do you know the only extra post-race cleaning I have to do is to clean out my throttle. I will probably take off my rear wheel, brake calipers and such too, but I don't really think they need it. It's not even close to HALF as bad as Xtremeland....

I would check the wheel and suspenion bearings anyway. Sand and water have a way of getting into the strangest of places! :scream:

You do know that TORO is a winter program and it rains in the winter

Yup. But I wasn't up for 2 mud bath races in a row. I had just recovered from Extremeland Friday night be fore the race. I tightened the last bolt at 9:30 pm after tearing it down to the frame/forks/motor and replaced trashed bearings and scrubbed everything with a toothbrush and re-lubed it all. I just couldn't put myself or my bike through a mud bath again!:scream:

Thanks for the the uh, weather report, yeah...

Will you go to round 4 if the weather dolts on TV call for rain? I would, especially if I just paid $30 to be there.

I was at the gate when a guy came for a refund. He said he had drove in from Terrell but wasn't going to race because it was muddy. Most people I know watch the weather reports and would have known it was going to rain. It's to bad that guy left, he drove all that way just to give TORO $15:think

It's funny that you mention weather. On Wednesdy of that week, it wasn't supposed to rain. On Friday morning, it was only supposed to rain on Saturday night. I think one of the reasons I raced is because I'm lousy at mud riding and I hate it.....but there's only one way to get better at it. If it rains on the 4L ranch in Jacksboro, it's going to be very nasty.
