Seeking info on Carlsbad raceway MX in So Cal

I'll be attending a conference at a hotel very near Carlsbad raceway next month. The idea of hauling my bike down to do a little riding afterwards is very appealing, but I don't know anything about Carlsbad MX. Since they don't have a website yet, I'm hoping some DRN folks can help out. Is the track open for practice on Sundays? Is Carlsbad a good place for an inexperienced track rider like myself to practice? Thanks.

I haven't been there for a couple of years (I'm sure it hasn't changed), but the track itself can be very slick in the morning and hard as a rock in the afternoon. No big jumps or whoops.
BTW, the track will be closing for good early next year (Feb. ?), so if you're gonna go, ya better go soon.
