Footlift in Tech Section

I tried to send this to Dave but the email bounced...
Just wanted to say I built a footlift based on the
drawings in the tech section. It came out pretty
good, despite the scrap I had on hand and my
crappy welding technique.
But one thing... its 12.5 inches in the LOWERED
position. It just barely squeeks under my WR400.
Haven't tried the KDX yet. I had a second look at
the drawings, and sure enough, they add up to
12.5 with the platform, not 10.5. There's a few
other suspect dimensions in the drawings too, so
beware.
But the leverage works great. I'm going to build
another shorter one for my KTM.

My wife built one for me for my B-Day.
It seems to work just fine.

Oh, mine works fine. I guess I should have been more clear.
What I'm saying is that the drawing for the "LIFT" shows the
upright to be 10 inches. Cut it that length, sit it on top of a
base built with 1-1/2 inch stock and add 3/4 inch platform with
1/4 inch rubber pad and you will NOT have a final stand that's
10.5 inches tall.

When I made mine I added another 8” onto the length of the handle (with an angle) so a light guy could put it up without having to jump on it. Can do it by hand now. Also put a piece of tube at the end of the handle so it is rounded & added some washers to reduce friction.
