In the case it turns in to one I'll say that RC's new Honda didn't look to handle as well in Aneheim as it did in Las Vegas. Not saying because he crashed, it just appeared that he was getting beat up more than some of the other riders were. Did it look that way to you? If you agree I'm just curious what you would have done differently. It looked to me like the shock was too stiff.

Well we do have lots to talk about.. Lets start at the top.. Some intresting things.. (Its getting late and I need to head home..) But here are Some of the sights, and we can keep posting over the next few days..
Here is DV's bike.
The bike looked smooth and under control.. I would say that the Yamaha looked like the best bike on the track interms of set-up. The fork fetures a a cast uper body with a billet body tube. The valving rod On MC's bike looked to be 18mm in diameter. I could not verfiy on Dv's bike.. Also the body is a large 50mm tube.
The forks are cool with a posible internal baldder and twin bushing set-up. Yamaha has got to be happy with Davids first win in 2002..

I've seen WP get slammed up and down for the use of a non-lockring type preload ring.. I about fell on the ground when I saw that the KYB / Enzo Kit suspension used by Yamaha of Troy fetured a WP like prelaod adjuster.. How cool is that.. KYB kocking WP off..
The shocks are revalved stock units with a special bummper.
The forks are Standard Lowers and works uper tubes. The sytem also incorporates the Enzo Subtank. Excellent working bikes..

I was completely taken by surprise at RC's ride. He looked like a fish out of water. He never looked comfortable from the start and he and the bike were in two different races. Now, on the other hand, Larocco's ride looked very smooth and in control. If not for the tangle with Ricky, I believe he would have walked away with it. Larocco's suspension seemed to be working very well. I did not pay alot of attention to how DV's bike was working and the t.v. coverage did not give me the opportunity to watch any of the other riders bikes for any length of time. I'll be very interested to hear Jer's take on everyone's bike and his thoughts on how each team's set-up performed.

Scatt,
Charmical did not look good... Really fast like always but just a little out of control and it showed.. Whats intresting is he never actuallty crashed in the whoops.. The stepup claimed him twice..
He seems to be runing the same old set-up as lat year.. I figure the topout spring is keeping the bike statically higher than the old Kaw.. But once hes on it, its a chopper like allways...

Jer

I could be wrong but the Troy/Enzo bikes look like they have anodized stock upper tubes. The aluminum piece where the stock fork protector guides mount look different than the Factory bikes.

Jer im a big fan of the WP preload adjuster-bet you never thought you would read that

Marcus,
Your right.. And I'll bet you never thought that I'd say that the PDS is where its at..
Shocknut,
The Troy ones are different.. actually.. But the lowers are stock.. The works Yamaha forks, I'm willing to bet are triple bushing..
Regards,
Jer
