My dad just got a 1982 Husqvarna 430CR that needs the rear shocks totaly rebuilt. Does anyone still work on shocks this old? We really need to have them overhauled.

Yes sir I think they are. I might be wrong but I took a photo of them so you could see for yourself.

If you can rebuild them let me know, my dad was also talking to Aloop about the shocks.

Lee,
Make some calls find out who has parts etc.. Ohlins put the clamps on parts distrobutions a few years back.. IncludingShock shafts which these babies always need..
Intresting enough many claim, that the old ITC shock was one of the sweetest working things ever made.. I have no idea, but it was as far as I know the first version of thePDS shock.. The shafts have big pistons on the ends that produce addtional damping at the end of the stroke similar to a fork oil lock..
Good Luck Best Regards,
Jer

Lee,
The 82 model did not have ITC Ohlins. The ITC was on the 83-84 Huskys. The ITC Ohlins are blue and usually 18.25 inches long. Your dad's bike should have the red/gold Ohlins on it. Parts are still a problem. Stig Pettersen (PPS Suspension) is the Ohlins repair facility in the US as far as I know. Do a search for them on the web. Bring $$$$:scream:
