ANYBODY KNOW THE RIDING RANGE OF A 2001-2002 WR426 STOCK FUEL TANK? IS THE IMS 4 GALLON REALLY A MUST?

I get 40~50mpg with my wr.
The stock 3.2 is then good for 100+miles.
I think the tanks get replaced on these bikes for other reasons...
