YZ 426 Clutch problems - help

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: PWDAD---------------------

My cousins clutch pull became very/very hard over the weekend. I lubed the cable and got any crap out the cable action is very smooth not the problem.

The pull takes alot of effort and we need some help with the possible cause of the problem.

Have you made sure there is no kinks in the cable? Also check the clutch actuating arm for smooth movement. If that checks out pull the clutch cover off and check the basket for wear, or grooves, on the fingers. Then you could pull the whole basket out and check the rod that goes from the actuating lever and engages the clutch. Not too difficult to check all of this. You should find the problem somewhere in the midst of that. Just some ideas.
