Hi
Im going to be buying at 97 kdx 220 pretty soon. Can someone link me to a place or explain what to do to clean up a bike and make sure its in good running order? The bike has been sitting in the shop forever (hes finally lowered the price to a reasonable level, 3000 can, not bad for a 97 I think).
What should I pull apart and inspect? What should I clean? Just anything to do or check to make sure its good and will last a long time.

Check out tech tips area for all kinds of information.
Things to check:
1. top end
2. Steering stem bearings
3. Suspension linkage
4. clutch plates
5. brake pads
6. service forks and shock
7. Buy some gaskets and dig into it, buy a service manual.
If all that is in good order it should really be a good ride.

Make sure to clean the KIPS power valve too! Very important IMO.
If you have any trouble, just bring it over to my house Cole.
