Yay!
My shoulder is about 98% healed. Time to go racing again.
Anybody else going to be out there?

Kinda bummed I'll be out of the overall points race, but at least I get some seat time.

Yea, I'll be there. Looks like it's going to be cold. I missed the last race(I thought it would be cancelled!) and I'm still in 2nd place Novice! Not bad for never racing before I guess. What class are you in?

Not going to make it this weekend, tweaked my wrist down in Pueblo last weekend...I am going to try and make the race in Feb, haven't made one yet this season...

Anyone know if they are going to have another one at Johnstown this season?

I was going to move up to intermediate this year but injuries have kept me off the bike most of the winter. So we will be duking it out together in the novice class!

I'm on a '01 426 with number 42 plates.

I made one of the races at Johnstown which is where I dislocated my shoulder. I have not ridden in about 8 weeks, so Sunday should be some ride!

I think the Johnstown ones are over.

Buckwheat816 said he was going......Where are you Buckwheat??....asked him when the race was.(?).....thought we might pop up and meet some folks from here....

John, Katie and family

I hope it warms up some before Sunday. I'm trying to kick a flu bug but the darn thing just keeps hanging around.

If I'm feeling better I'll see you at the race on Sunday. If I don't make it, post your thoughts on the race. (Better pack your long johns, its going to be cold.)

See you at the races.

Hey, how the ribs doin'?

Posted by: Rodzilla---------------------

Oh Man!

I totally forgot 'bout the HS ! Still sorting out the KTM but it would have been a great day to race! Must have been COLD though

Course with the new KTM my position won't improve but I'd look better bringing up the rear!

So how'd everyone do?

Rod

I finished 19/38 in the Novice class. Pretty good I guess for not riding for 2 months. My endurance is crap right now.

It was cold an windy! My fingers almost fell off after the first lap. I think it got a little warmer after that though because I could feel my hand again during the second lap.

Posted by: camperj---------------------

5/38 Novice. Hokie, 19/38! where were you? I thought we were going to duke it out in the Novice Class!
Just poking fun. Hang in there.

I hear a CHALLENGE!

One more race in the series......

By the way, how many laps did you get?

Posted by: camperj---------------------

9 laps. Doesn't everbody pretty much get the same? Hopefully this next one will be a little more forgiving with the weather. I guess this cold stuff seperates the men from the boys though!

I only got 8, I missed the white flag.
I think I got lapped by the pro leaders on the last lap. I think the pros usually get 11-12 laps.

I was up to 10 laps last year.

I was fading so bad on the last lap, all I wanted was to get off the bike!
Although, I was kinda pissed after I figured out that I barely missed a 9th lap.

How many riders last week?

Seems that last year there were a ton of guys switching between classes from one race to the next. One race there were 30 novice riders and 10 sportsmen next week it was opposite!

Was there a good turn out?

Posted by: camperj---------------------

You guys have any clue what they give out for prizes for the season leaders?
I'm thinking they should give the first three in each class a season pass to ride there. It would'nt be that much skin off of their back and it would be HUGE to us. I think it would also help with the turnout on the races, to have people know they have a chance to score something cool?

Posted by: Dougie---------------------

The turnout was pretty good for being so cold. The wind really put a hurt on you though. The Sportsman class was about 30 this time around. It still was a good time. At least for the first lap for me. I crashed in the whoops right before the check point and knocked myself out. Jumped into the face of the third whoop, right over the bars (worked on the practice lap). The lady said I was out for two minutes. Bike was OK, I still have very sore ribs and a shoulder. Nothing broken, need a new helmet though.

I believe they give out trophies at each race and for the series. Wouldn't know for sure, never in the top three. Working my way up though in each race (except this last one of course). I heard Miliken's HS awards stuff you can use like gear and parts.

Posted by: reynome---------------------

The Milliken HS series is better IMO, plus they will be hosting a national Hare and Hound race this spring on much of the same course.
They gave you credits to use in their store for trophies.

One thing I dont like about Berthod is paying at the gate to just get in, if I am racing I dont want to pay as a spectator too! Milliken doesnt chage at all to watch just to race.

Posted by: DirtFamily---------------------

When is the National Hare and Hound at Milliken? I think I heard something about that before......thanks!

Katie

Posted by: Rodzilla---------------------

Katie the Nat. is April 13 and 14.

Prolly wont race as I can't keep up with the locals but I'll go watch and cheer Team DRN Colorado on.

Rod

Posted by: DirtFamily---------------------

Thanks for the info, Rod. I'll make sure to put it on my calendar!

Ahhhh, you should do it anyway!
I'm going to do it!

Posted by: Rodzilla---------------------

Hokie,

I'd look like the water truck rolling around as slow as I do!:scream:

Maybe you could rub my helmet as you lap me for good luck!
