what was the purpose for making the newseries shock springs longer ?????

Dale,
The longer spring allows for diffrent cross over points and a diffrent feel. ITs a great idea.. In 2002 we are going to be working with the Progressive springs. We will have too learn some new tricks. The Works SXS componets use a statically preloaded and never totally compressed top out spring. This will require the use of progressives as far as I can tell.. Kind of like a Zero Preload set-up..

Jer

Will the new shock spring work on the 2001 shocks. I am thinking of buying a PDS 3, could I use a PDS 7? I weigh agout 190 street clothes.

BD,
The longer springs are really all that new.. But anyway at this point with modified valving, and a 1998-2002 stock PDS shock I belive the straight rate is more tunable... Now with the 2002 SXS or Works PDS shock the progressives will be used in testing as a very litght intial rate is required.. I would wait, but one way or the other you don't have a works shock and until you do I think its a waste..

Regards,
Jer
