Spring Rate Suggestions 97 KTM EXC?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: KTM Mike---------------------

I have 97 KTM 300EXC that i am having the suspension rebuilt. I toyed with a re-valve etc but decided against it as I plan on selling the bike end of 02, maybe sooner. Meanwhile, I will race C class enduro this summer and am wondering if I should consider different spring rates.

I am 1881bs with no gear, C-Senior class rider. Michigan with lots of whoops. I belive the springs are stock (I am not orig. owner of bike) the rear is a 5.3 kg/mm. Not sure what is up front.

Any suggestions?

KTM Mike,
Stock springs should be fine actually.. What do your sag nummbers tell you?

Jer

Thanks for the reply. Actually sag #s seem fine. I dont recall exact #s off hand, but i think static was at 30mm or so, race sage at 95 to 100mm.

Mike,
Get my tunning guide going and go from there.. You should be fine.

Jer
