Croom!

I had my first trip there today! Wow, that was loads of fun but I thought it would be bigger. After we got through the gate, there was that one parking area to the left and then that was it. Sure, there were some trails, but I don't know, maybe I missed something...
My dad didn't like it that much. He is sort of the slow one that likes flat ground and well, it wasn't flat there. I did great in the sand! I was so proud of myself! I liked the "mini whoops" they had. I don't know what they're called, even if they have a name. But I flew through them and loved the whole thing. No jumps for me, not THAT good. I was just proud I didn't fall, but I did have a MILLION close calls.
Anyone go there regularly? Tell me about it! I don't know when I'll go back, I'm only about 45 minutes away but who knows. I'd like to get back there tomorrow but... School... Maybe on the weekend or something.
Later days!

Jedi you missed the best part of Crooms. There is a large section in the back where people camp and there are a lot more parking areas.
You can check it out next time since your not far. I prefer the back section because the trails haven't been pounded by the 4 wheelers as much as the front area.
There are some fun pits and usuallyl its not a crazy as where you were at. Get your dad to keep heading straight down the road another mile and a half and you'll be in heaven. See ya there.

Farther down? I told my dad that there was another section and we headed there but we turned around in that turn around section cause we were going pretty far and I wasn't even sure myself. The part I went to wasn't that bad. There was a lot of people though, I was kind of embarrassed and didn't want to go. I don't like to have a lot of people watch all my mistakes and stuff. I got use to it though and it pretty much seemed like everyone had their own business and stuff.
There was a pit area, mostly sand and stuff, but I didn't see many people do a lot of jumps. It was good though, I would have just gotten in their way or something.
I dont know about camping out, seems a little weird to me, never been camping. Might be something to consider though...
Later days!

We are thinking of driving 11 hrs from NC in march to ride here for 3 days. Probably will camp out. Is it worth this long ride? How many miles of trails, degree of difficulty, are the trails marked? what can somebody tell me about Ocala? Thanks for any help!

we met some guys from Pittsburgh at Croom last Sunday. They were on vaca for 4 or 5 days. Said they had been driving down to ride Croom for the last 10 years. Nice guys and pretty fast, at least 2 of them. The other guy got a vine around his neck 1st thing in the am and he wasn't riding anymore. Looked like someone had cut his throat.

Croom
I rode there last month as i was traveling down that way to see my dad (Ocala). I was a little disapointed with Croom (yes - we rode the back part too). But it was better than not riding at all.
mp4798 - I would not make a special trip down there to ride. You should definately have some good (better) riding in NC.

I didn't think it was that bad, though that's the only place I've been. Going there tomorrow(Sunday) too! Yay!

Crooms is a great place to ride. Me and a lot of other people have been going there for years and will continue to ride there.
Here is another place that might interest you and isn't too far if your close to crooms.
