A friend of mine is working with a developer, and the Nisqually Indians to develop a 70+ acre moto play land. Best thing is since on Indian land the red tape will be next to none. Looks like chance of it going off is good. I have been asked to advise on design, and implimentation, so any thoughts any body has will be greatly appreciated. My biggest beef with most races is the high cost, it usually costs 60-80 bucks to take my kid to a race to run ONE class. The other would be not enough practice days.

Do you have anymore info. ? That place has to be pretty close to my house and I know several people that would be interested.

Still in planning stages right now, so not much info out yet. Don't know exact location. I did propose a covered area for a small to medium track for year round riding though, and he seemed pretty receptive.

So what type of riding are you looking at making this place? I would say ideally, it'd be nice to have a few different tracks with varrying difficulties, some tight, slow trails, some faster, more open trails, and an open grass track. That way, the place would appeal to many different kinds of riders.

Nisqually River Valley Lome Sounds great I would love to help out as I have built a few tracks over the years.
Also have you about THE TEST TRACK near Ellensberg??

From what I've heard so far it sounds like they are planning a Expert Supercross style track, a motocross track with a little SX( maybe Ward Creekish, my fav.) mixed in for us average people, a pee-wee track, and a circle track for those who can't turn right. I know he was very interested in the track diagrams in the current SX program. He didn't say anything about trails so far. Again I really tried to push him to suggest some kind of covered facility for our wet winters. I believe one of their major goals is to somehow link the facility to their Casino in some way or another. He even said they have, or were going to contact MXA mag. to help with promotions and maybe some planning. As a hater of the moto rags I suggested they contact Ted Devol instead. While it is still to early to tell if it even will happen I got the impression they wanted to open for THIS year

i'm not sure if i like the idea of it being linked to the casino, if they are going to use it for any kind of betting at the casino...but hey... whatever works to get it up & running. i'm not a track rider for the most part, but more places to ride is a good thing no matter where they are.

I think the casino deal is more to the tune of having say, shuttle busses at the track so if say you brought the wife, and grandma they could bounce to the casino while the boys played. Since the casino is big dollars I think they would like to do anything to draw more people to it. I'm going to talk to him about the trail issue though, it seems like the right thing to do.

I will offer what I can....its close to home, ...
I can operate heavy junk, do layout....hey....I can even throw a shovel around if it builds the area a better community for off road riders!

I'm down with a new track to practice on I favor a MX track more maybe mixed in with alittle SX. An indoor facility would be the shiznit.
