Whaddya think about the "Powers That Be" (CCE or AMA, whoever wins out over this deal) going with more of a NASCAR style points system? Points for leading a lap, leading the most laps, maybe even points for heat and semi wins?
It would make things more complicated, but also more interesting, IMO, due to the new ways of gathering points thrown into the mix.
Just a thought. :think

I think that they should just have one big race every week. No classes, no points. Just throw all the guys on the track and let them go for 20 laps. Who ever wins first is the winner of the week. At the end of the season, who ever won first the most times, wins! If there is a tie, put them on the track for one more race and vio la! If you want to make it more interesting, take away all size and weight limits. I would definetely pay to see that.:o

I always liked the invite final where they take the top whatever % of lap times to make a grid, regardless of class. I'd throw in a pit stop to make it interesting - make them change a wheel or sparkplug or something.
I like the holeshot, lap leading, fastest lap, longest jump thing too - but for cash, not points.

I like the pit stop idea. They should have only enough gas that they would have to pit for fuel, but no specific lap. They could do it any time. It would also have to be a specific amount, so the fuel amount would not be a factor in their pit stop time, only the skill of the mechanic.
I don't know, it would be intriguing, though.

I'm not trying to spoil your fun with your ideas and everything, but I like things the way the work now to be honest. I think pit stops would be good for situations like what happen to langston though at the last round at Steel City. If they had a pit stop to put another wheel on he might have pulled it off, but that is MX. I like SX the way it is. I could see them putting a pit stop in MX though.
