Making a "Motocross" CD - Need song suggestions!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: nikki---------------------

I got got a CD burner ( ) so Red and I decided that it would be cool to make one or two "Motocross" CD's. We were thinking mostly loud hard rock songs that get you pumped up to go ride.

So lets hear your suggestions! What are a few songs that get you going before a ride/race? If you can't think of a particular song... how about a few good groups? Thanks for the help!

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

AC/DC, Rob Zombie, Van Halen or Motley Crue. Good luck
Elk

Posted by: JuliusPleaser---------------------

Rage Against The Machine. Just dupe the entire "Battle Of Los Angeles" CD.

Posted by: CanadianRidr---------------------

On my motocross CD I have

P.O.D-Alive
Linkin Park-Crawling
(get any linkin park song! It always pumps me up)
Linkin Park-One step closer
Incubus- Pardon Me
Metallica (song from Children of metal god, sorry don't remember name)
Sensor-Age of Panic

(If you want anymore of this type just let me know, I have about 5 CD'S of just this kind of stuff)
Then to kind of mellow you out and pump you up at the same time get

Soil-Man I am
Morcheeba-Big calm
Team sleep- Slip from space

Posted by: Patman---------------------

What about "The Beer Barrel Polka" by Mr. Wunnerful (Lawrence Welk)? Which reminds me how about "Tiny Bubbles?

OK well then I guess some Kid Rock.

Posted by: yz250roost---------------------

The songs on it are as follows

1) here we go- Bouncing souls
2) My pants are falling down- Diesel Boy
3) All I want- Offspring (my favorite, a must have in anyones riding CD!)
4)One Step Closer- Linkin Park (like previously stated the whole linkin park Cd)
5)Ragdoll- Soak
6)New skin- Incubus (motocross madness 2 theme song)
7)Dissappointed-face to face
8)stomp- Craving theo
9)the way you like it- Adema
10)Defy you - offspring
11)youth of the nation- P.O.D
12)Crawling in the dark- Hoobastank

And that's my most perfect CD for riding that I listen to everytime, if you need more ideas, watch MX videos and read the credits at the end for good sounds, I got most of mine off of rechromed and the crusty videos, hope this helps, winmx is a good download for mp3's www.winmx.com

Posted by: Matt_H---------------------

1. Crashing Around you ---- Machine head
2. Praise------- Sevendust
3. Disease----- Breach of Trust
4. Steppin' Away----- Stereomud
5. Given in-------Adema

Hope this helps. Project wyze also has some good stuff.

Matt

Anything off the new System of a Down cd (that would be Toxicity).

Posted by: zio---------------------

I'll add...

Disturbed- Stupify
Saliva- Disease
Offspring- Self Esteem
Metallica- Nothing Else Matters (if you have a seriously kickin' stereo even though it's slow- it rocks when played loud)
Billy Idol- L.A. Woman (I love his version & it gets me amped for bikes everytime)
Creed- Torn
Jane's Addiction- Caught Stealing
Talking Heads- Burning Down the House, Girlfriend is Better

And just as important are the post-ride CD's- to keep that warm feeling lasting you'll need:
Beatles- Hey Jude
Boston- More Than a Feeling
Def Leppard- Rock of Ages, Pour Some Sugar On Me
Fuel- Shimmer (my "first" motocross song)
The Outfield- I just want to Use Your Love Tonight
Jane's Addiction- Jane Says
Journey- the entire Greatist Hits CD
Led Zeppelin- How Many More Times, The Rain Song
Marvin Gaye- What's Goin' On, Mercy Mercy Me (maybel save that for home
)
Mazzy Star- Fade to you
Michael Jackson- Human Nature
Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here (Orb Remix)

Posted by: Camstyn---------------------

the early Offspring material is great.. My personal fave is Bad Habit. Rockin', and it cracks me up at the same time..

Posted by: HiG4s---------------------

About half the stuff by Aerosmith would go, and how can you leave out Top Gun Anthem.

Posted by: Zenith---------------------

The tracks off the Crusty 2000 sound track are good, I listened to them for hours while playing Motocross Madness 2.
If you wanna download them or whatever the tracks are:
Agent Orange - This is all I need
Agent Orange - Unsafe at any speed
Grinspoon - Champion
Guano Apes - Open your mind (...My Favourite...)

Metallica - Enter Sandman (...Great song as well...)

Posted by: zio---------------------

If anyone wants any song, let me know. I have most of them listed above (all in my post). My current music directory consists of 1244 songs, 6.03 gb worth. I'd be happy to zip & e-mail a bunch. Audiogalaxy just took a turn for the worse (membership required if you want to download songs quickly). Bear Share is my last resort. Or if anyone wants a particular CD burned- just e-mail me a playlist & your address. Forget postage or the cost of the CD. Unless there's any record label folks here- then I'm only kidding.

Posted by: JPIVEY---------------------

Rob Zombie - Plantasmo and the Chicken Run Blast-o-Rama

That will get you pumped

Posted by: sfc crash---------------------

krokus-stayed awake all night(that's my jumping song, esp night mass tacs) ac/dc-shoot to thrill(that's my rotory wing ac song, esp nap of the earth, door seat) ac/dc-if you want blood, you got it. poison-don't want nuthin' but a good time.(i love it-leah HATES it) btw, a couple of the songs on "almost famous" rocked, especially if you're old, like me. they give the entire songs on the cd version of the movie.

Posted by: LWilson250---------------------

zio, your play list looks almost exactly like mine. But toss in some Sponge, 311 and some stuff off of Terra Firma 4 and you got it!

Lee W.

Nikki, In addition throw some Ministry "Jesus built my Hot Rod" and Deftones "7 Words" on that disc.

This is something I just got through doing myself...

Here is what I came up with for a my most recent CD I called "PRE-MIX I"

Drop Kick Murphys - Cadence to Arms
AFI - The Days of the Phoenix
Ugly Duckling - Introduckling
Downset - Keep on Breathing
The Suicide Machines - No Face
Less Than Jake - Help Save the Youth of America from Exploding
Full Devil Jacket - Wanna Be Martyr
Unwritten Law - Harmonic
Disturbed - Meaning of Life
Grinspoon - Champion
Suicide Machines - SOS
Disturbed - Voices (Are you breathing?)
The International Noise Conspiracy - Smash It Up
Stepkings - Vibe
Static X - Love Dump
Grinspoon - Pedestrian
Less Than Jake - Automatic
Disturbed - The Game
Refused - Refused are F&^%$#@ Dead
Spineshank - New Disease
Saliva - Dope Ride
Junkie XL - Legion

That is all that would fit on "PRE-MIX I" So I plan on making more in the series...

Slated for the 2nd version are the following songs / bands:
POD - Boom
POD - The Messenja
POD - ???
Kotton Mouth Kings - Here We Go Again
System of a Down
More Spineshank
More Grinspoon
More Static X - Ostego Undead, Black and White
More Downset

Who knows what else?

I am looking for a song right now that was featured on a PointX video called "How I wasted my summer" that is by a band called Full Metal Racket. It has a sample of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and it ROCKS! If anyone has this song PLEASE let me know!!!

Other CDs that tend to get rotation in my car are:
Drowning Pool
Creed - Weathered
Nickelback
Rage Against the Machine (any of them, but Battle of LA is my favorite)
Some Techno (Can't beat DJ ICEY's Essential Mix or Funky Breaks mixed CDs, Deisel Boy, Keoki, Chemical Brothers, etc.)

My taste in music is fairly varied, but I can't stand to listen to country and western (and I am a native Texan :o )
