Should be no problem to get coverage. I'm in Canada and insured thru State Farm and have fire, theft, and Liabilty on a 98 KDX 220R for $144 a year.

Got Progressive thought my local agent, fire, theft and liability (valuable if you leave your yard) If your in the NE corner send me a PM and I'll bore you with the details if you wish..Unfortunately, its inpractical to insure older, although mint bikes above book value.

Thats a great price for insurance. I'm paying over $500.00 U.S. dollars for a street legal 2002 KDX 200. I'm going to call around for a better price.:scream:

It's not a street bike. The liability just allows me to ride on public land. Sorry if I was misleading...

I am an agent for Erie Insurance and put my bike on my auto policy for $166/yr full coverage, comprehensive/collision. Most people do not know that dirt bikes are not covered under the homeowners for liability, theft or collision. So, if you are riding your bike off your property you have no coverage if you injure someone, big exposure.

BPJNT:
My insurer made me take a separate policy for my bike, said it couldn't be put on with the vehicles or house. Don't think it made a huge difference with the price but what gives? Wouldn't things be the same on both sides of the border?

DVO,
Premium wise it really doesn't matter, but you may have lower liability limits on your bike policy as opposed to your personal auto policy, check it out. The agent is making a mistake writing it this way because if you change your auto carrier he's stuck with your bike policy and it's alot of liability for little premium.
