I'm taking my first trip to Daytona to ride the Alligator Enduro this year.Just wondering if any more KDXer's are planning on riding this race. Any info on what the race is like or how long it normally is would be appreciated.

I don't ride a KDX but I have raced the Alligator. It is a tough race. Depending on the year and the amount of rain it can be 40-75 miles long. Mostly sand and whoops. The course is usually pretty tight with not alot of visibility.
It will be a challenge!

I can't make it down there this year. I will be riding the National Enduro in Greensboro GA. Are you going to that?
Here's what I said in a previos Alligator Thread:
I last rode the 'Gator in '98. Face Slappers is an understatement. You guys do realize that the Daytona Dirt Riders don't own a single machete or tree trimming devise at all. It gets so bad that you can't even see the trail. The palmetto branches are like riding through a car wash.
Be sure to wear an old jersey for the race because it will be shredded by the end of the event.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the info guys. This is my first year trying to ride most of the SETRA races. I am riding the National Timr. I heard it was real tough last year because of all the rain they had before the race. My boys rode the Junior Enduro at Cherokee last year on Saturday and it was real nasty. I rode the Gobbler Getter in Maplesville back in Novemeber and the boys rode the Junior race. We really enjoyed it. We'll be back next year for sure.

I'll try and look for you at the National. Watch for a post about who's going to the National in the Enduro/Hare Scramble forum.
I skipped Maplesville this year even though, it's only a 50 minute drive from my house.
I heard the same thing about last years Greensboro National. I rode the Louisiana National last year, and it was a 97 mile sloppy mess. Cherokee should be OK if they don't get as much rain this year.

We do too have machettes. I think the face slappers aren't going to be as bad as years past. We have a limit and it's almost full-get your entry in now if you want to ride! Pray for rain so we kin git you'all some mud.
