I just got done testing my 2 styles KDX's.
The test was to see what they would be like.
I threw a 39mm Kehin carb from my old ktm200, (155 main, 40 pilot, 1-1/2 airscrew clip in #2) Dyno Port Top End Pipe /repacked Silencer, boysen #607 Reeds, 12 tooth front. Pro X piston.
North Eastern Pa. Culm, dirt, rocks, some icey spots, roots. tight trails and large open areas.
It was damp terf, really good traction, @45-50 degrees.
Rever:
It was like I thought no bottom end, screamed to the hills, it'll be great in a MX setting. Had to really work to keep it up to speed in the woods/tight stuff. Sometimes the hard hit was annoying.I tired earlier cuz I had to work it.
Grunt:
Stock carb,(155 main,42pilot, clip in #2position, air screw 1/12) boysen reeds #607, Dyno port pipe, 12 tooth, Freddette pipe spacer,
Same settings same trails.
Smoother hit on the bottom, not a killer hit but useful if you know what I mean. Killer mid hit and seemed to scream on top. Easier to ride in tight stuff, could get kinda lazy and still keep speed. Over all better lap times on 4 mile Enduro course.
The Rever felt like my old MXers,
(30 years of MX,2 years of woods racing) work it and it'll fly.
Grunt KDX was more forgiving yet was faster.
Well I thought I just send this all out, if anyone could use it cool if not well I thought I should share.Maybe save some $$ of hop ups!
Joe
2001 KDX
2-Yami TTR 125, Boy "A"'s, "B"'s
The older I get the faster I was!
Sure I fall, someones gotta do it!
