Handguard Brake Line Clearance

I've got some MSR Deflectors that seem to made my EE since the instructions have the EE logo on top. Anyway, while looking at how they'd fit on the stock bars it seems the front brake line and line mounting bolt on the master cylinder will be in the way unless I angle the guard low below the brake line.
This might work but won't the guard take out the brake line and maybe master cylinder if the guard rotates up on a good hard get off? Seems to me like it will. Expensive crash that would be. (I can't angle the guard above the line because that puts it way too high, even with the low position I like my brake lever)
I've thought of adding some washers and a longer bolt to the inner guard mount to get clearance. Or maybe bending the guard itself on the inside end. Has anybody cut the forged slot on the master cylinder to change the angle of the brake hose? This would help get the line out of the way anyway. Any other ideas?
My goal is to mount the guard so it protects the master cylinder and brake line and not just my hand.

Knights make some nice J shaped mounts that work real nice.
