Thanks Everyone...sold the bike today...boy now i have empty nest syndrome...it just seemed "right" having two KTM's in the garage...hmmm
PRICE REDUCED NOW $2,850.
as of 4/24/02 Price now Reduced to $2,700. I will have the bike at a Swap Meet on 4/27 in Indian River Michigan and plan to ask that price there so wanted to offer it up here .
I had not planned on selling this bike early this winter...so I started a very detailed go through to prep it for the upcoming season...then after all the new parts were bought and paid for (over $700 worth!) somehow a newer KTM followed me home one day! End result is some lucky buyer is gonna get a very throughly maintained super condition 300 EXC!
The following items just installed - have not even ridden it since install:- All new UFO Plastic
- CEET Seat Cover
- Complete Top end including a Re-Plate of cylinder by US Chrome
- Forks and Shocks professionally rebuilt
Other Goodies:- Recent Clutch Plates (last fall)
- Enduro Engineering Bark Busters with Moose Handguards
- IMS Brake Fin
- Banzai Brothers Pipe Guard
- Spare Air Filter
- Perfectly Jetted (for Michigan at least!) with #7 Slide and Straight Taper Needle
- Michigan Street Legal Title
As you can see from pic below - cosmetically the bike is nearly perfect - mechanically its top notch as well!
Asking $3,000 or best offer. Delivery within 300 miles or so of North Eastern Lower Michigan or shipping via Forward Air is negotiable.
I have many detailed high resolution pics I can email interested buyers - or if you have a specific request for a pic I will do my best to get it for you! Email me direct at sstephenson@i2k.net or call week days at 989-742-5003, or reasonable hours evenings/weekends at 989-785-2974

hopefully it worked!

I just added a couple more pics of the bike.
To see them, click here.
Take a look - you can see just how clean this bike is, and know just how new that top end looks to! It might be a day or so before the pics are "approved" for posting on the DRN site...so if they still show as "pending" try again later!

Ktm MIke, is that the original tank? It looks larger than the newer ones. Also, Would that bike be competative in MI enduros with a heavier set rider aboard??
Posted by: KTM Mike---------------------
That tank is stock - i do think it is larger than what is on the newer models though.. I have gotten as much as 65 miles on a tank. I think the new UFO shrouds appear a bit more "rounded" and make it look even more so.
As far as heavier rider - absolutely! This thing is a torque monster! Super luggable engine - tops out real nice as well. I assume you are on a 200 or 220 KDX - my 300 will be a huge step up motor wise!
Competative in Michigan enduros - if you are a A or AA rider - likely not, as a back of the pack C class rider like me - not a problem. Did me just fine last year. If you are not a racer - still a fantastic bike for trail/woods riding - will take about anything you throw at it!
Email me direct if you have any more detailed questions or to talk price - if you are in MIchigan delivery is a good possibility.

KTM mike. I have E mailed you direct and have not heard back. Have i missed something or are you not home? Have ?s for you.
Posted by: KTM Mike---------------------
2big - sorry for the delay - that other address i gave you was my work address - and I aint been there! (will be on monday though
please email me again at sstephenson@i2k.net
(dont want any others here to think I dont respond ya know!)
The bike is still available....i am still a " motivated seller" (err...my wife is helping that - she seems to feel 2 KTMs, a street bike and the kids toys are at least one bike to many!)
Posted by: KTM Mike---------------------
The bike is still available....price is negotiable to!
Posted by: KTM Mike---------------------
Ok - I am sittin here waiting for that one person who realizes just how great of a bike this is.... I just may have to take that offer to trade for a snowmobile (to much snow here now anyhow!) but would rather sell it to someone who really appreciates a great used KTM! Of course...price negotiable!

KTMMike,
I wish I would have seen the question to your post earlier. It looks like the sale to 2bigforkdx did not work. I feel the 300 EXC could be competitive in MI enduros. I think the bike is ideal for bigger riders. Beleive me at 6'5' and 250....I love my 300!!
Mike Jr.

Fatherandson,
nope - no luck with 2big, I think he was just kickin tires anyhow. Actually I would agree even as a 97 model my 300 can still be competitive. I certainly had a blast on it in my first season of enduros - it never let me down - I was always the weakest link - not the bike
I see that Michigan chapter is up and running - great! Make the snow go away now!

Mike- I love my 97' 300 and I too plan to have a new just as soon as my wife lets me. I don't know why somebody hasn't jumped on this deal. It would seem logical to me however, that you keep this bike for a spare. Can you just explain to your wife that it is common & necessary to have a back-up bike. I will sell all my other toys & my teenager before my beloved pumpkin!
Posted by: KTM Mike---------------------
LOL
I like your logic! In fact - that was my first plan of action! But it seems the wife has not forgotten the days when I had 9 bikes! Also seems she has kept inventory of all the current toys as well (see my sig below!)
I even tried to suggest it wouldnt be TOO long before my 11 year old would be big enough for it...but that didnt even work!
Now, in all fairness to the better half, she did say I could keep it if I sold off what ever other items of comparable value...lets see...fishin boat..nah...my VFR...no way...ah ah...how about her quad....that would not go over well...looks like I am just gonna have to sell it! Thanks for the support though!
