Maxxis Tires

Has anyone use maxxis tires before? I heard they're pretty good.I was looking at the maxx cross IT,or the sur cross tire.I ride in mostly hard pack, But is a mixture of sand to rocks.I have been using the dunlop 756 with good results and would like to try another tire.Thanks

Most of my riding buddies use Michelin S-12 rears. One guy decided to switch to a Maxxis like you are talking about to see how it did since it was cheaper. He told me the other day "It's no S-12, not terrible, but not great either." Said he's going back to the S-12.
