anyone know what the pay difference is between what a top five sx rider commands v. what a top five ax rider gets. I know it's gotta be alot but those ax guys look like they really got work for what ever it is their getting.

i talked to the arenacross racer robby mcquary after one of the races. he is a midpack racer i guess but he said that he brought home about 1600$ that weekend(friday and satuday). he also said that his sponcers picked up all his expenses and health insurance and stuff. so i would say, that to ballpark the comparison, that top arenacross riders make in the tens of thousand dollar range while top supercross riders make in the hundred thousand to million dollar range.

Something else to keep in mind is the fact that the top SX guys are getting endorsement deals out the wazoo, where as only a handful of AX guys get a few ads. Usually something where they are standing behind an SX rider. Plus, the SX guys get money and bonus from their sponsers where as AX riders usually just get parts, contengency and rides. I am sure that the top AX guys get contract pay but I bet it is not much. just my $.02

I read an article in Dirt Rider mag once that said Buddy Antunez was pulling down around 200 grand a year. That's pretty good but I bet quite a few SX guys got that beat.
