my son has a 1984 kdx200, just found out the piston has too much clearance. can the cylinder be bored,or do I have to have it resleeved? thanks,Pete

I believe that cylinder is plated, not sure on that old a model. If it is plated, send it to US Chrome for re-plating, it will be better than new.

Price a replate (no, I don't know for sure if the '84 WAS plated), a piston-ring-pin-clip set, add a gasket set. Add some time and scrubbing to disassy/clean/reassy your power valve.

Then price EGs 225 kit which comes with all the above, AND porting at your pleasure...and probably some cool stickers to boot!!!

.......seems replating to a standard bore isn't too sensible.

I need a replate. To EG it goes...next time.
