Any DRN'ers going to Sandy Lane on the 24th? Should be a great race...

Posted by: Jim G---------------------

I'll be there, going up on Saturday.

Posted by: Hugebear---------------------

Cool Jim, I'll be going up Saturday too. What do you so we plan to have a little DRN get together?

Posted by: Hugebear---------------------

Oops, meant "what do you say?".

Posted by: Milquetoast---------------------

You Marylanders keep saying that you're going "up" to the enduro, so maybe that means it's in NJ? (where is the race?)

Posted by: Hugebear---------------------

<lol> I think Marlyanders say they're "going up" regardless of where they're actually going, like "I'm going up to Florida next week"!

Yes, the race is in NJ. It's the second round of the ECEA enduro series. The first several are in the pine barrens of south Jersey. Lots of fun, tight trails, sandy trails, and no rocks! Find out more here:

If anyone is interested there is one more spot on my minute, or you could be on an adjacent minute (probably).

Hugebear, what class do you ride in? I might be able to make it to the enduro. By the way, is your name huge-bear or huggy-bear?

Posted by: Hugebear---------------------

Huggy Bear?!? Now that's funny, although I don't even drive a '77 Lincoln or own a hat with a feather in it! It's huge-bear, I know it's silly but it's my nickname from my college football days. It's a play on my last name, and my uh, physical presence...

I am riding C 4 stroke, but don't let that fool you, I'm actually much slower than that might indicate!

Dave and I are going to try to make it down to the event!
We just have a few bike issues that need to come together before then.

Sandy Lane is now on this year's WNYOA enduro schedule. Other club members says it's a good early-season run. It will be our first Jersey run.

I go every year. Its a great run, very "C" rider friendly. They trophy "C"s to 10th place. The only stoppers in the past have been some late minute mudholes/bogs after wet winters, but that should not be an issue this year. Also, this year is a qualifier type format, with only start and known controls, so timekeeping is not an issue.

Looking forward to a great enduro event there, Jim.
