Racing in his first-ever Grand National Cross Country Series event, four-time motocross/supercross champ Jeff Emig battled to the top spot of the podium in the Industry Class on Tuesday. Fro, on his Kawasaki, started the race in tenth position, working his way up to the lead early in the first lap (each lap is about 11.5 miles).
While he probably wouldn't have fared quite so well in the afternoon Pro race - conditions get much rougher for that one - Emig hung on to beat out names like Dick Burleson, Kurt Nicoll, Danny LaPorte and desert ace Jimmy Lewis. Way to go Fro!

Jeff grew up riding trails in Missouri and Colorado. his dad and brother both fly in the woods as well.
