Congrads on the new YZ! I got a 02 CR 250 a little over a week ago from Canada. I actually picked it up and drove it home. Got mine for $4150! Hope you enjoy. It's a sweet bike

Posted by: tileman---------------------

Thats a great deal on the cr for $4,150 sweet.
Yea this is my 1st yz have always been a cr guy.

Posted by: podia---------------------

Congrat!

You will be glad you got it!

Posted by: hoosierf---------------------

You also were fortunate enough to get Dunlop 755's instead of 739's. Congratualations, I bought mine in Canada back in November and it is simply the best bike I've ever owned. That motor is so sweet I didn't even want to put a spark arrestor on it for fear of shifting the power up or down in the RPM range.

Woow i never saw a bike in the crate..What do you have to install. The front wheel/fender is that it? If so i should buy a bike in the crate whenever i get a new one.!!!

Posted by: tileman---------------------

marcv125

I had to install the bars clutch & front brake levers
front tire oil the air filter front fender and a few more odds and ends
total time could of been maybe one hr but I took the whole bike a part
to grease it good so had maybe 4 hr in the job took my time.

Posted by: marcv125---------------------

Thats great..thx..That is def worth considering when i purchase my next bike..Did you ride the yz yet?

Posted by: tileman---------------------

Just geting ready to leave now to go rideing its a about 50 min drive to the track I can not wait

Yea here in town the best deal on the 02 yz 250 was $6,260.00
so I had to go with the saveings of $1,594.00.

I called them up took like 4 days to get my bike and about a hr drive to pick it up.

Tileman, nice bike have fun! I'm a tile guy here in OR, an old mud float guy! getting a bike in a crate is very cool, its fun to put it all together your self, let us know how the ride went. Keith.

Well I went out for my ride sat and WOW I love the bike lots of power down low and up top. The bike just pulls & pulls ( but real smooth) I was rideing in the woods cause our track has a race on sun so they are closed the day befor a race I can not wait till next weekend to test it on a track.

The bike fells a tad stiff but I hope it will soften up some.
As far as blasting some burms I would leave it in 3rd gear and just power out I would have to say so far its just as good as any of my past CRs I have had. The brakes work real good and bike feels just right lots of room for me to move around.

My wife has a 00 yz 80 and trying to get the air filter back in after a cleaning is well :scream: It just hard (well maybe just for me ) But the 250 was cake

So far I am sold on the yz just hope it holds up as good as my past Crs did and I'll be happy.
I'll let you guys know how next sat at the track go's.

Keith M ( old mud float guy)
Around here they are far & few.
We do a lot of school work (mud & epoxy grouts) hard to find guys that do it still I am lucky I came up the old (mud & thinset way) any more all the tile setters are stick on guys (mastic)

Ron.

Hey guys congrats! I am a little jealous though, I just got my 02 CR 250 from my local bike shop and they hit me for $6032.00 out the door. I wish I had known about your source. Sounds like you got a great deal.

Enjoy

who did you get it from in canada??

Posted by: tileman---------------------

I got my 02 yz from
Cycle City 2396 Queensway Dr.
Burlington ON. L79 3T3
# (905) 681-2155

The guys name I got mine from was Jim Fisher

Good luck with the new bike. And congrats on the sweet deal

Posted by: 2001yz250---------------------

If the '02 is as good or better than the '01, then you better tie your belt to the handlebars 'cause the YZ is a rocket that will pull you right out of your gloves! I don't know about longevity compared to a CR though. I still have an '89 CR250 that runs awsome but the suspension will make you feel like you've been hit by Jack Lambert at full speed!

I got my 02 CR from Inglis Cycle Center in London, Ontario. I really liked them. The shop was so helpful and pleasant... I don't know if that was just because they were Canadian but and I will be buying an '03 from him next year. My friend and I both bought one and we say that we are sponsered by TEAM CANADA! Because we are going to ride our 02 CR's all year and then sell them in the fall for the same price or more than we bought them for. Then go buy a new one. Nothing like riding all year on a bike and only paying for maintanence.

NAFTA is a good thing!

FYI...I bought my yz from canada 6 months ago. I would recommend checking your charge in your rear shock. Mine was low. I don't know if it was done intentionally or not (shipping nitrogen). I would recommend checking all the oils just to be on the safe side. I do know a couple of people that have had the same problem with the shock.

Yeah i ws kinda lucky when i got my '99 125 $2800 for a bike the owner of the shop himself owned new. He found the best jetting added the pipe and silencer, triple clamps and bars. also the failry new tires right before he sold it. the guy he sold it to put on graphics and black fenders(very evil looking) and maybe rode the bike 4 hours. Oh yeah the first owner rode 10 hours tops... so i feel very lucky to have found it all for $2800 also bought a in-crate raptor 90 for my sis all for around 5 grand

Posted by: 326mx---------------------

Not to forget i've maybe put two Hours on so 16 total and about to get new piston and top-end

Posted by: cr125_king---------------------

I think us Canadians should inforce a 29% tariff fee on all dirtbikes leaving Canada into the U.S! . Dont kill me i'm just j/k
