I have a 97 250 TM MX with these forks, can anyone with experience of same let me know how to reduce their harshness for riding over rough off road conditions, many thanks.

I also have a 97 tm 250mx with 50mm conventional forks which are to harsh. I have just pulled them off to modifiy so I will update you. remember 1 leg controls compression and 1 controls rebound so you may just need a revalve in 1 leg.

What do you think of your bike otherwise?

Do you find the power controllable?

Do you mx or trail ride?

Mine put out 48 horse power at the back wheel on a dyno 150. More than any other 250 b4 or since.

Cheers
Red

Red, Thanks for reply, look forward to your suggestions, I like the bike, have it 2 years , had a kdx for a couple of months , too tame but nice. I had problems adapting to the TM's power at first, got kinda used to it and sold the kdx then, I put a flywheel weight on it last Autumn and lowered the gearing to 12/53 put a Kx 250 (1991) needle in the carb. lot better for the trail riding more control at low speed, top end more the enough. stripped the motor when I got it, crank seals & bearings, plus replaced that piece of dirt that's disguised as a kick start stop!

cheers

Dick
