What about Nitrogen or Argon

Can Argon be used instead of Nirogen or for that matter Co2. Does anybody know the different characteristics?

Also I wonder if there would be much of a disadvantage using air that is dry? Say, less than 1% humidity.

Argon can be used in place of Nitrogen.
