Adding Fork Oil to twin chambers.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Redrider---------------------

I recently used the ol film negative trick to clean a fork seal, which was leaking, on my 99 cr 250 which has showa twin chamber forks. I am now wondering if I can add fork oil to the fork through the air bleeder on top of the fork. I would say that i probably need to add 1/2 -1 oz of fork fluid.
Any replies will be appreciated.

A very helpful member told me you could but I can't find the post to link it.

Email me (since you don't allow me to email you) and I'll forward our email conversation to you. I had the same issue about 3 weeks ago...but I ended up buying the wrench and taking teh tops off....I had to add 40 ccs to each leg and I didn't know how accurately I could could put that much through those holes.

Yes you can do it through the air bleed screw.

Hey guys,
I really appreciate the replies. The information was super useful. I am a firm believer of if you own a dirtbike you need to learn how to do the repairs yourself ( or learn to pay the local honda shop $55 per hour).
Thanks again
Redrider.
