Hey guys
I just wanted to run this by you before I hear what the shop says. I'm taking in my forks off my 98 Yz 250 (kayaba) and after I took them off the bike I ran them through their stroke a few times and noticed on the left fork leg (brake side) I could hear the spring inside compressing, on the other I couldn't hear anything except fluid moving, I suspect something is wrong inside the left fork leg, is this true or is that sound normal, (the compressing spring sound) If so what is wrong because I don't want the shop to rip me off, thanks in advance,
Jeff

p.s. I'm taking the forks in to have the seals replaced. sorry

It is almost impossible to stop the forks making some noise as you push them through the stroke but without hearing the noise its hard to say whats wrong.

This may not help but the sound it makes is VERY similar to that of when you lay down on an old bed and the springs make that creaking sound, I guess it's normal huh, thanks in advance for all your help,
Jeff

If you loosen the fork cap and let the outer tube drop down you will see most of the workings of the fork and then see whats making the noise.

Thanks I'll do that
