Should My bike bottom here?

Here is a video of me coming off a small jump and landing flat.

(do dscf0005 . (me coming off a small jump)
If you go through that video frame by frame, you will see that I bottom the suspension front and rear.
Should my bike be doing this? It has 10.8 inches of travel front and rear, and being a full fledged motocross bike I think it should have more of a resistance to bottoming, but what do I know? (It dosent feel too harsh)

I doubt many DRN'ers are members of "Rens Garage". Therefore few of us can see it. Links like that usually dont work on my comp., that could be why i cant see it.

Rather than get hung up on the video - let's focus on the question (seeing as I have the same problem). If I can't make a table top I'll still jump as far as I can - and then bottom on the rear. If I make it to the landing then I'm okay. But I've always wondered, too, should the bike bottom that easily when I land flat? Or do I need a revalve? I'm sure my spring is stiff enough.

same here...I would think that my bike should have more bottoming resistance after that little jump...
I never knew I was bottoming there until I saw the video, This bike has really great bottoming bumpers, but that is a really small jump, and it worries me what might happen if I land flat from say..15 feet

I didn't see your video... but I sent Jeremy Wilkey a photo of me landing a 35-40 foot double a little while back where my suspension looked to be bottomed (both front and rear). This is the email and his response:
ME TO JER:
Hey Jer - I raced Casey on Sunday and took a few pix.
I noticed I was bottoming here and there. I
don't notice it when I ride but could you look at
these pix and see what you think:
(1) Me landing the downhill double
(2) Me in uphill whoops
JER TO ME:
Nikki,
Your bike looks fine.. Its normal.. If you feel a hard bottom its bad,
but to use all your travel is ok.. Also these look like low-speed
bottoms.. Its actually easier to bottom suspension in these types of
loads, than say on big hits because they produce more speed. Valving is
speed sensitive.. If you feel a hard clank let me know that's bad..
Regards,
Jer

So given this information - if you're not feeling the bike bottom (which I wasn't at all) then it just means that you are using all of your travel. And you said it didn't feel too harsh, so I wouldn't be too concerned. Now if it's slamming down and you feel the bottoming - then you should either have stiffer springs installed or a revalve with stiffer springs. I think stock 80 springs are for about a 100 lb. rider. Also - from Jer's information - sounds like it is easier to use all of your travel in the situation that you described (low-speed bottoms).

Then I wouldn't be concerned - you're just using all of your travel.... this is expected on landing a little low-speed jump.

Thats not to bad dell. And that looks like a fun jump!
The reason people can see the vids in my Yahoo group without joining is because I have set many of the groups options to the "open" setting so people and view it.

how do you do that?
I set membership as unrestricted...
I really feel harsh bottoming after a 10 foot jump (high)
I weigh 103 pounds... I'm sure my spring rates are ok, I guell I'll have to experiment with more compression damping

also if you read the thread about unweighting the bike, you can see that i sorta tuck over the rear fender in the air, and right before landing i stand up...is this an okay technique?? It is sorta automatic...
