Im wondering what u guys would recomend for me. I have road alil. I am 5 10 or 5 11 160lbs 17yrs old. Im thinking switching from a 300 4trax to a bike. I would ride trails mainly with friends. I live in the mts. so i need plenty of power for up hill and the straits on the ridges. And the trails we ride have jumps. I was looking into a YZ 250 or a KX 250 or a KLX 300. I sorta think that the YZ or the KX will have to much power for me sense i havnt road much but im also thinking i can just take it easy untill i start getting the hang of it. Tell me your ideas.

for your first bike i would say a 2000 2001 xr250 they are awesome on the trails hills everywhere

billy6801, dont be a post jacker.
dirtfree, a KLX300R is a great bike for trails and ridding with friends. Still has more power then your 300EX but not by much so it will be easier to cope with.
