Ltm Ride Report... Sad, not only for me

Today was a day of infamy at LTM. I got there and unloaded everything. Then, I see this guy fall so hard then after 40 min of laying on the ground was taken away in an ambulance with a broken leg and nose. Then, I headed off to put in some laps. Little did i know LTM had almost rebuilr all the obstacles. Higher and further apart whoops, and way, way steeper. Well later on my first lap i come to my favorite part of the track.

The big loamy left hander into the step up. I get to the step up and the face is very very steep. My bike goes vertical and continues to loop back. After holding the rear brake, I bailed. The bike landed on its rear end. I continue riding for a while. Later my friend points out my rear fender is bent. so i go to my tools and proceed to take off the plastic to see how bad it is bent.

First off comes the seat. Then the number plates. And then Finally the fender. I take it off only to be amazed that it isn't bent. I look down and my subframe is bent so the right bar is over the left center of my tire, not only is the bar over that far but maybe an inch lower than the other bar. That ended my day. But, not only was my bike in no condition to be ridden but i was in no condition to ride. When i bailed i landed on my feet, but now afeter i stopped riding my knees feel real bad... On landing they compressed so quickly now i am unable to walk. Now that i am sitting down i noticed my rear tire was in shreds..... Oh great. But hey now i can get some Maxxis Tires..

But that wasn't the end for troubles for riders that day, when i was leaving i noticed oil coming from the clutch casing of the bike next to me. I asked what happened and he broke a chain and cracked his casing.....

All in All not a good day at LTM...

Also, where should i look for a new subframe(strong)????

A healing Jason

Weird

I wouldn't be so quick to buy a new subframe, you can probably straighten yours. Leave it on the bike, and wrestle with it until it looks straight. Use a level to check for accuracy. The aluminum is pretty weak and easy to bend, you'll see why it got bent so easily in the first place.

If all else fails, BBR and AC Racing make subframes. I've heard a lot of horror stories about the AC Racing subframes not even remotely fitting, but some have had good luck with them. They are a fair bit cheaper than the BBR ones.

jason. Try calling BBR and ask if they have any YZ sub frames laying around. They often have parts (brand new) from bikes they scavenge to build the new ones at great prices. If you ask real nice they will usually search out what you need

Thanks for the replies. Yesterday i worked until 11:30 at night with a ax handle bending it back. not quite perfect but really really close.
