My family owns a sony 8mm handycam video cameras, and I was wondering if anyone knows of some sort of lens that would fasten to the camera and mount on my head. I saw one on offroad.com, but it is too expensive, I am looking for a relatively cheap cam. Thanks.

A drill and some zip ties.

That would be too heavy, I'm looking at a setup where the camera is in a pack on my back and a small lens is mounted on the helmet, but thanks anyways.

It's what I use and like it a lot. REally good video.

I tried the tape the camera to your helmet trick. It worked but it was heavy and hard to position the camera. Plus I didnt like the idea of a $400 cam going right in the dirt when I wrecked.

Mine made it through 5 laps on billywho... It came loose from his helmet, the cord wrapped around his neck a few times, but it survived. It lasted 1 lap before coming loose.. after that was some interesting video, lol.

There is a gent on EBAY selling helmet cams. still pricey at $200 but cheaper than some I've seen.

Missed an auction last month by about 5 minutes for a unit that sold for $60!

Look under "Helmet camera" (it didn't come up under just "Helmet cam") on EBAY.
