Let's see if we can try this agian to get Ringo satisfied. :D
In reviewing the results Saturday looked to be a pretty tough day as the number of DNF's was HUGE :scream: and "5" seemed to be a very popular number. I'm curious if the DNF's were because the sections became so difficult because of the weather or because of bike failure due to the weather (i.e. lots of water). (Trailwench I also noticed you had a DNF, that wouldn't have been on a GasGas Pro would it?
) Really I'm very interested infinding out what everyone saw or experienced there since I was unable to go
. Maybe next year though.

Patman,
On Saturday the riders out before 9:30 made it through about 3-5 sections before the rain started. When it started to rain it rained HARD and non-stop for pretty much the whole time we had to ride. There was some serious lightening and on one section. I was sure the lady holding the umbrella on top of a rock was going to get hit. We told her to put on a rain jacket and she said but I'm not cold, Yea but you are holding a lightening Rod. Eventually she figured it out. ( A motorhome did get hit back at camp) There was one section that was on a steep hillside that you had to get up to get to the next trail. I watched about 5 good men try and their was no way they could make it without rolling backwards which was a 5. At that point you had to sit down to even make it. There was one section in a gully that had about 2 " of water running in it when I rode it at around 9:15. On the second loop there was at least 3' of water so that section was thrown out. That is the same place we had to cross to go to the other sections and the water was honestly moving to fast and too deep to cross so we had to ride several miles back to cross at a drain pipe. I would have to say that about half of the 30 something DNF were due to bike and the other were due to the fact that they didn't think it was worth riding a really hard trail section (hard due to the mud) only to get 5's. The pro has a new airbox with a drain plug in the bottom that is supposed to let water out but not let dirt in. It was getting clogged with mud and then some of the bikes got stuff in the carb. I took mine out and did not have a problem. GG is working on redesigning this so it won't occur. I believe this is what happened to Laura's bike. It is too bad it rained because it would have been a great trial otherwise. Sunday was GREAT. There was still some mud but nothing a good rider would have had problems with. It got hot and HUMID on Sunday. Okay I am from Colorado so it WAS humid to me but probably not to most.
