KLX cam timing and shims

I've got a parts unlimited catalog and am wondering what size shims to get for my valve adjustment...I think I was told they are 8mm but I'm can't remember. Also has anyone played with the exhaust cam timing to improve top end hit? I know a bunch of you WR guys revert back to YZ cam timing and was wondering if any change could benifit the KLX? (for no reason other then it looked kinda cool)
