XR 100 VS tt-r125, XR200 vs TT-r225

Thanks for you input everyone on the TT-r125l and tt-r225. I am looking for 2 inexpensive bikes for my wife and I. I would like to stay with one manufacture for both bikes because of ease of service and parts. I have heard great things about the tt-r125 but no one likes the tt-r225. Anyone know how the honda xr 100 stacks up to the tt-r125 and the xr200 to the tt-r225. My wife weighs 110 lbs and I am 210 lbs. I would really like to step up to a 250 for me, but the budget won't allow it. Thanks for any input.

The TTR 225 is portly, and the resale doesnt seem to be as good as the other bikes listed above. The TTR 125 is a nice bike, but have you considered the ttr 250 for yourself? My girlfriend rides an xr 200 that is quite a bit of fun, but quickly shows its weakness when a large adult rides at speeds approaching race pace.

I purchased a TT-R125L for my son this year and while he will out grow very quickly due to wanting to become an MX racer it was a great learning bike so far and I am seriously considering keeping it for my wife as it seems to be a terrific ride. While shopping for my son's bike I was also looking to upgrade my ride from an 86 RM125, I test rode a TT-R 225 and was shocked and dismayed at the weight/ lack of performance of this beast. It was the most underpowered undersuspended bike I had ever been on, also test rode the TT-R250 and was more pleased with this bike as it had alot more power and suspension although after riding mx bikes I couldn't bring myself to part with the cash for it either so for now I still ride the 86 RM 125 while I save enough cash for a YZF250 or WR250F. If your a trail rider looking for trail performance the TT-R 250 is a very nice ride while I can't say enough good things about my son's 02 TT-R125L. Hope this helps in some way

Depending where you look, you should be able to get an XR250R. It wont be brand new, but you should be able to find one in decent shape for a good price.
