Help! Looking to buy used and have ops for both. Differences/preferences/problems of each? Want to dual sport with magic button if possible. Thanks!

If you are going to dual sport then the EXC would be cheaper and easier for you to convert! I believe the main diffs are:
SX - little or no flywheel weight - quicker revving
EXC - not sure how much but I'm fairly certain it has some weight
SX - close ratio gearing
EXC - wide ratio
SX - no lighting coil
EXC - lighting coil, headlight, taillight.
SX - Slightly smaller gas tank 1.9 gal vs 2.3 or 2.5
EXC also is e-start.
Those are the main things I can think of.
