NorCal Riding Closure!!

I just received an email from Jerry Fouts, President of D36, and he mentioned that there is a riding area off of Hwy88 called Silver Lake that will soon be closed. This is due to our beloved Senator Barbara Boxer.
Anyone know more details?

It is true that the Caples Creek/Silver Lake area which has a network of motrized trails and jeep roads is being proposed for closure under Boxers Wilderness proposal. It also includes other OHV areas such as Downieville. You need to write to both California Senators as well as your Congressman and oppose the Boxer Wilderness plan. One should also join the Blue Ribbon Coalition today. www.sharetrails.org
There is a legal battle going on in the courts now to close the El Dorado National Forest to all. You can but more information on these issues and others on the Blue Ribbon Coalition Website.
