I saw these at Eastbay and thought I'd check them out. Just do a search for the Pine NFL Pro Line Game Sock or socks. You can get them in different lengths and colors and if you want them to go up higher for knee brace wearers, just get one that is for someone taller. For exampe, I'm 6'1" and the 6'2"-6'5" socks come up just high enough to fit under the Asterisk braces. They are only $14.99 for two pair. I would recommend these.

How do these socks compare to the MSR over-the-knee socks? Are they thicker? My complaint with the MSR units is how quickly they stretch to sleeping bag-like width! I also don't like how heavy they are. What do you think?

Sorry, I haven't ever used the MSR socks so I can't compare. The material on the NFL socks is 50% duraspun acrylic / 50% nylon. I can say that I've worn them about 3 times now with running them through the washer and they still look new.

I always wear soccer socks...of course I still have a big stash from my soccer days.
